Citrus Mixer

Hey everybody!
See I told you :D here I am with another lovely nail post. And lo and behold, we have some nail art!
Keep in mind that my nail art is crazy simple. Half moons, gradients, ombrés, simple stuff like that. I don't think I'll ever be one to paint the Mona Lisa or Last Supper on my digits.
Anyways, this is a simple duo tone colour block mani using Essence Lime Up! and Walking On Sunshine. Lime Up! is now available in the new bottles, but my pretty shimmery sunshine yellow has been discontinued.
This was three coats of each, plus top coat. Super easy, and crazy long lasting. This picture was taken on the 4th day of wear.

Not Such A Secret Anymore

Hey everybody! Another little NOTD that I've been holding onto forever. This is a gorgeous little Essence gem. Seriously, I love the Colour And Go line so much I may just have to suck up my dislike of the new bottles. This is A Lovely Secret by Essence, a pretty little purple with the most gorgeous shimmer. But the weird thing about it is the shimmer isn't shimmery, per say. It's almost like one of those grey undershirts with the craft type pattern. The ones that are a million little flecks of different greys? Well I just lost all of you.
Anyways, this is a cute little purple with a gorgeous formula. Three coats and it was nice and smooth, and it lasted forever without chipping. And it's unique. Ahh, what a dream polish. So sad it's discontinued. If you get the chance, snatch this baby up. Now.

Hey Everybody!
I'm trying to clean out my folders and use all my old pictures, and this is a real old picture, lemme tell you! This is actually the first polish I took a picture of, and it was used as underwear for my very first NOTD, which was Indian Ocean, btw :)
Anyways, Joe Fresh Wave is a truly gorgeous colour! It's a very light, baby blue, with some light shimmer :) It was a dream to work with, and only took two coats for full opacity, which is amazing for this light of a colour.
Also, I must add how dark my hands are! Okay, probably not to many people, but I am so darn pasty now, I couldn't believe how tanned my hands looked in this picture, taken in August. Anyways, this is natural light, which I'm aching for now, as pictures come out so much crisper and nicer :)

Thinking of Pair-A-Dice

Today I'm showing you a swatch of a lesser known brand, 2 Sisters Cosmetics. One of the things I like is being able to show you brands that don't have a lot of swatches up. I like being able to find swatches, and hate it when I can't find a picture of a specific polish online. Living in Canada, we get nail polish collections later, and I never buy the whole collection. Anyways, I feel like I'd rather show you a polish that you can't find else where, rather than one that was featured on every single blog last week.
Anyways, I really love 2 Sisters Cosmetics. I was having one of those weeks when none of your manis work out, all of them rushed or with bed marks or terrible formulas, and I decided to try out another one of the polishes I won from a giveaway a while ago.
Pair-A-Dice is creamy and amazingly opaque in two thin coats. The colour itself is not very unique, I know of a least 10 versions of hat exact blue, but the shimmer really sets it apart. All of the blues I know that look like this are all cremes. And it isn't normal shimmer either, it's the crushed micro flakie type stuff I adore, that I sadly could not capture. This picture, like all of my swatches, is done with out topcoat. It's pretty glossy on its own, and I recommend not using topcoat, as you really lose a lot of the shimmer. These are pretty well priced at $7.00, a little more expensive than drugstore brands, but well worth it for the colour selection, and the formula of the ones I've tried so far. Also, I like the names. Simple, well thought and cute.
Anyways, we've been going through a really foggy spell, so these pictures are indoor lighting.

Ah-May-Zing!!!

Hey guys. So, if you've been looking at my posts, I've been doing a lot of blue manis. I was in a little bit of a colour rut. Do you know what I'm talking about? When you look in your drawer, and pick up yet another of the exact same colour? That was me with blue. Blue, blue, blue, and let me tell up you, too much blue can be a little tiring. So I looked through and picked out something completely different, in the form of Nicole by OPI's It's Ah-May-Zing. I don't get the name, and all of those dashes, but boy, is it a pretty colour. It's Ah-May-Zing is a pretty metallic-y shimmer. The colour is a gorgeous deep pink colour. Exactly the palette cleanser I needed. This is three coats, but with no free edge worries, two thicker coats would work perfectly. I had some minor application issues, but I feel like it's worth it. If only the bottles weren't so stupid. This is a pre-pro-wide brush, and it doesn't go anywhere near the bottom of the bottle. It's 85% full, and it's already impossible to coat the brush without closing the bottle and turning upside down. Annoying.
Anyways, here are the swatches. Three coats, no topcoat.
