Burfday Nails!!!

Hello! Soo, as you may know, the 7th was my birthday :D I figured I'd show off my lovely layered mani I wore.
First up is two coats of Essence Nude It! This has some what killed the lemming for OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons/ Zoya Avery, though, really this is discontinued and only 5 mls, so I should grab a bottle of Zoya or OPI...
Anyways 2 smooth and easy coats, artificial light. Also, excuse my sad broken pointer finger (**sobs uncontrollably**).

Hmm, what should I add to this lovely, delicate subtle nude? HOLOGRAPHIC OF COURSE!!! Nothing **fixes** a delicate subtle mani like crazy rainbows!
This is one coat of Glitter Gal Silver 3D, in artificial light- it's way stronger in daylight btw. Blurry to show the holo off.

Okay, now what else is there to put on but BIRTHDAY GLITTER!!! And yes, I call these types of glitter birthday glitter, blame Deborah lol. This one is super duper awesome 'cuz it smells like Sugar Cookies and I'm absolutely obsessed with scented glitters. There are waaaayyyyyy not enough. I mean almost every company has scented polish and glitter polish, so how hard is it to put them together?!?! So far these Claire's Christmas minis and Color Club's Scentsuos (which I am crazy lemming. Cough cough birthday present ;) are the only ones I've seen out there.
Here's two light coats of Sugar Cookie, no placement. More fake lighting :D

Hope you enjoyed my crazy birthday nails! Now all I'm thinking about is whether they could make scented holos... Hmmm....
Do you like this mani? Are you a fan of scented polishes? Leave a comment! It's worth an entry in my giveaway too. Bonus!

Brit Sure Is Matte

Hello everyone! School's starting back up tomorrow, and exams will be soon, so I may be a little under the radar for a little bit. Trust me, I am dreading it more than you are, :P
Here's the first polish I wore from my collective haul post that I posted a couple days ago- Julep Brit. It was part of their much anticipated Suedes collection, that took way to love for all us mavens liking :) Brit is the silver suede of the collection, and a pretty one at that.
Anyways, suedes and other mattes chip easily by nature, so this isn't a polish that your can wear for days, the same is true for any polish with a matte finish, they just don't bond to the nail very well. There are a couple tricks to prolong your mani though, I like to do a base coat sandwich (base coat, 1 coat of polish, another coat of base, and a final coat of polish). I also make sure it's a strong adhesion base coat. Just a warning though, base coats can slightly affect the polish finish and make application a little trickier, but to me, the pros outweigh the cons.
Also, become a maven for a penny here: http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/26940/
Anyways, onto pictures. Artificial lighting, two coat sandwich method, no topcoat.
