An English, Indian Ocean.

I figured my first swatch should be my favourite colour. Only problem is that I don't have a favourite colour, I love all the polishes I own, or I don't own them, LOL.
However, with that said, one of the jewels of my collection is Indian Ocean; from Model's Own fabulous Beetlejuice Collection, a gorgeous polish from a wonderful friend of mine, the lovely Emma at Imagination in Colour. Model's Own is a British brand, so I was incredibly happy to be able to get this.
This is two coats layered over Joe Fresh Wave, another very pretty polish that goes with Indian Ocean perfectly. Natural light.
I loved Indian Ocean and first sight, and while some people can't stand having to layer polishes, it really doesn't matter to me. Especially when the end result is as pretty as this. The duochrome is much more visible in real life, it's quite amazing to have such a strong shift in such a light polish. This is definitely true love for me.

Price- £5.00 (for 14 ml)
Where To Buy- modelsownit.com (international shipping)
3-Free?- Sadly not.
Cruelty-Free?- Yes.
Bottom Line- I'd love to see someone try to take this from me, it's not going anywhere!

Are you a fan of layering polishes? What's your favorite International brand?

GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!!

Guess what time it is?!?! Giveaway time! Yep, it's Really Quite Awesome's very first giveaway! I just hope you are all as excited as me! I love giveaways and have always dreamt of  having one myself. This is to celebrate a couple things. First off, we have 10 ah-may-zing followers, 11 if you just so happen to count little me. We also have over 1000 (around 1500) pageviews and this is our 51st post! and, as the cherry on top, I have a brand new camera! I know these are tiny, insignificant numbers for some, but for me and my itty, bitty, blog that's hasn't even been around for a whole year, it's pretty big.
Okay, okay, I'm getting a little sentimental, I know. And meanwhile, you're wondering, 'Well what's the prize?!'

Pretty, Aren't They?
View photo.JPG in slide show
Sorry this is sideways! I couldn't change it!
Anyways, here are the names of both, and a kitty!
Sorry, she isn't included in the giveaway.
I'll be giving away a bottle of Revlon nail polish in Peach Nectar, a gorgeous peachy shade I picked up specially for this giveaway, so sadly I don't have a personal bottle to show to you how awesome it is, but it looks like a beautiful polish that'd work well on a wide array of skin tones and nail lengths. I also wanted to add a gorgeous Canadian beauty, a lovely Joe Fresh Cheek Tint in my favourite colour of the range; Cherry. I cannot rave enough about this product. It's a perfect sheer wash of colour that's easily buildable, if you want more of a pop of colour. While I don't have a NARS The Multiple, nor have ever had one, I don't think this cheap little tints are shabby either. I know these say they are meant for cheeks, but I find the shape, size and texture makes it perfect for the lips too. And since I like to over do it, there will also be some surprises thrown in. Like what,
WELL I CAN'T TELL YOU! IT'S A SURPRISE!
If we do get enough entries, I'll expand the prize pool and add some more winners, too.
Have I convinced you to enter yet? If so, feel free to use the rafflecopter widget below. Just a few rules before we start, though. The Internet is international, so my giveaway is too, just be aware of rules your country may have. As much as I want to be able to buy you a new set if anything were to happen, I cannot be responsible for anything that happens to the product once it leaves my hands. This includes if it gets lost, stolen or broken, sorry. Please do not cheat, I will be deleting false entries. And if I get a person trying to enter twice, I will delete allow both entries. The only sponsor of this giveaway is moi, and I spent my money to purchase both items, and my money is covering shipping costs too. I think that everything, so with that I say,
MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR!

Click Here To Enter With Rafflecopter!

UPDATE: I've heard that some of you are having trouble witht the pictures, so here they are again if the first set won't load for you.

Wishlist

Here's my Wishlist. Realistically, knowing me and my cheapness, I'm probably not going to get most of them, but a girl can dream, right?

If any of y'all have a spare or gently used bottle or have access to any of these (or a dupe, I am totally open to dupes, as long as the brands don't test), I'd love to swap. Heck, even if you don't; I'd still love to do a swap with you. Leave a comment here or email me at ReallyQuiteAwesome@hotmail.com . Thanks!

Julep August Box- Colours Review

Okay, here's my opinion on the August Julep Maven Boxes, as well as the pictures of each box, but first off is the non-polish extra, nail polish remover:

My first thought? How tiny is that! Honestly, I buy my cheap-but works stuff, and am quite happy with it. I know some people can't imagine looking at anything other that Zoya Remove Plus, but honestly, if it works, and doesn't kill my poor little wallet, I'm fine with it. If the container was bigger, I probably would have loved to try it, but that's way not big enough for the price tag.

The It Girl Box

Melanie: Pastel indigo metallic chrome
Sienna: Sophisticated gold metallic
Harley: Liquid silver metallic chrome

I really love Melanie, I thinks she's a gorgeous colour that I don't have anything like. However, Sienna is an old colour, that a lot of Julep fans already have, and that I have a dupe for. Harley is meh, silver chrome, not really worth that much to me. There's also a lot of speculation that is a re release for Leighton... Overall, I like this box, I really do. Just not for $20.

Boho Glam

Isla: Soft milky-white metallic
Piper: Mint-teal metallic chrome

Okay, now look at these pictures, the nails are streaky and have bald spots. Come on Julep, your a nail parlour, you should know that people like opaque, streak and patch free nails. Other than that, I think the colours are gorgeous, Isla looks really pretty, and I will definitely look for something like her. Piper is also something I want to get a dupe of. However, I don't just want to get this box because A. Julep polishes are small, and I don't want to waste a bottle on one Mani that isn't streaky or patchy.
B. I wouldn't pay $20 for them and the polish remover, which brings me to
C. I don't want their polish remover.

American Beauty

Dakota: Rose-gold metallic chrome
Stefani: Gold-flecked grey metallic

This is like all the other boxes, it's nice. Stefani is an old colour, and has been in a couple mystery boxes already. Dakota is nice, I don't know what else to say. It's a pretty colour, but for the money, I'd rather get Essie's new metallic that's similar to this. All-in-all it's a nice box.

Classic With A Twist

Alfre: Royal metropolitan purple metallic
Felicity: Yellow-gold metallic chrome

Not a big fan of these, and Alfre is also a preexisting colour. I doubt Felicity would look remotely okay with my skin tone, but one someone else it might look good. Nothing else to say about these.

Bombshell

Kim: Gunmetal grey metallic
Harley: Liquid silver metallic chrome

Kim's preexisting and I've already talked about Harley, enough said.

This whole collection is pretty meh to me. I think it's good for polish newbies, and people who are looking for some nice chromes, but I'd honestly rather get Essie's. Especially after last month's ah-maz-ing box, this one is a little lacking. Here's to September's box being better.

Overall Verdict- Skipping. I'll spend my money on something I like a little more and hope for something better in September's box.

Nail Mail!

Hey guys! Having a good Summer so far? I just made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies and am waiting for the kitchen timer to ding so I can dig into some soft, fresh baked, goey cookies.
But right now I have some gorgeous nail mail to show you guys :D The first polishes are from the lovely Tara at Osiris And Loki Paint Their Nails, be surer to pop over their and give her blog a looksie. Here are the goodies she sent me, all the way from Australia:

There's the lovely Max Factor Mini in Ivory, a gorgeous foily gold that leans silver instead of yellow, which suits my skin tone much better
Now are the frankens made by Tara herself, Technocolour, a pretty silver holo that is very pretty, not to mention really, truly holo, it's a gorgeous linear that looks amazing in the sun.
There's also my favorite, Radioactive, a gorgeous green linear holo that I named! Tee hee, I doubt I'm ever going to get over it, I'm so happy that my idea was chosen. Do you like the name? Anyways, here are the pictures, keep in mind they are much more holographic in real live.

I also got my Julep Maven July Box, here are the colours and a review of the box is coming.

Once I get my new camera, I'd love to swatch all of these out for you. Sorry for the crappy quality of these ones, they were taken using my web cam. Eek! I know :( But me new camera is coming and I'll replace these pictures when it comes.
Have a great day all of you, and a big thanks, again, to Tara. I'm so happy about these lovelies!
Please give her a visit at OsirisAndLokiPaintTheirNails.blogspot.com

July Julep Boxes

Better late than never, right? The end of school is killing me,and I feel drained when I come home, but there's only one week left. Anyways, here are the Julep Maven July Boxes. I like these way more than June, and May's too. The glitter's look freakin' fantastic, especially the one in the It Girl Box. You also get a free polish celebrating either Canada Day or the Fourth Of July. The only issue I have with this is I way prefer America The Beautiful, which I think they did way better. And it has star glitter. Oh, I forgot, these also have a lip vernis that is colour-coordinated to a polish. I love that look but when you see the swatches of the lip color, they're really sheer. So, in reality, your lips and nails won't be matchy -matchy. But I have to say, I'm glad we're aware of that before hand, just so we won't be expecting something just like the Butter London colours with the matching lippies. Also, the names aren't coordinating, which is a little weird. Just to let you know, this is obviously picture-heavy.

And here is the breakdown of what's in each box:

EDIT: They changed the box shot's to the new month's boxes/

And I thought I'd include the swatches, since the above pictures don't do those glitter polishes any justice:

These two are O Canada and America The Beautiful. Which one you get depends on where you live, but you can get them as add-ons. The rest are in the same order as the box shots.

And here are the lippies. I didn't know if I'd include them since this mouth grosses me out for some reason (am I the only one?), but I figured I'd show you how sheer these really are:

If you want to sign up for Julep Maven, please use my refferal code, because if I get a free month I will do a giveaway, so one of you can win a free Maven box.
You can use COLORS4ONE and get your introductory box for only 1 cent, shipping included.
Also, please note that this post was NOT sponsered my anyone.

This One's For The Cheapo's

Sally Beauty Supply is selling of all their clearance items for an extra 50% off. While I was passing by yesterday, I took a quick look and managed to grab a China Glaze in Cracked Medallion and a Finger Paints in Blue Crackle for under $2. Together. With Tax. They had a good selection of nice clearance nail, hair and other beauty products, even at the tiny sad one near my house. I'm going somewhere near a nice, big one and I'll be sure to tell you what goodies I get my fingers on there. Sally already has great clearance prices on good stuff, so this is a way to get a couple nice things for an even nicer price. In store or with the promo code 555100 online. While supplies last, as I'm told. And no, this isn't sponsored by anyone, I just like to be the bearer of fan-tabulous news :)

Julep June Boxes

Julep has released their June Maven Box products. Julep has a great beauty subscription program- think Glossybox, Birch Box and The Beauty Test Tube- where you can get three polishes or two polishes and a manicure/pedicure related item for only 19.99. Juleps polish retails for 14.99 on their website, as well as Sephora; their other stuff is usually more expensive. Please beware that this post is picture heavy. Anyways; here are this months products:

And here are the boxes, in case your wondering what each one. You can choose to add up to two add-ons for 4.99- or 9.99 for the cream. To the best of my knowledge, you can also get two or more boxes if that's up your alley.

I love alot of these, but wish you could construct your own box with three items of your choosing; or even could swap out one thing for another. I really like the colors Classic With A Twist, or Boho Glam, but I have very sensitive skin and since I can't try it, I wouldn't want to buy it for fear of getting welts or hives. The only two colors I don't like are both in the It Girl box, and they look similar to ones I have already got (for much cheaper).

Anways, you can also get your first month for 1 cent with free shipping here. This box will be different than the ones pictured above, but for 1 cent? I'd give whatever I'd get a try. Julep has nice nail polish, and they're 15 bucks a pop at Sephora.

What's Magenta, Green and Pearly All Over?

My Julep box! I finally received my polishes from Julep today! I've swatched them on my nail wheel and they are gorgeous! In case you were wondering, I received Helena which is an ultra-saturated fuchsia, Leah, a grass green shimmer, and Melissa, a sheer opalescent colour that flashes blue (it is not holographic). Besides the fact that these are gorgeous; they were only 1 cent! Altogether! Right now, if you use the promo code - COLORS4ONE or PENNY, you can get your own Julep polishes for the same price here. Here are the ones they are currently offering in the It Girl Intro Box. There are other options (4), that have 2 polishes and a other goods, like hand cream or cuticle oil.
It Girl Intro BoxHeather, chic platinum greige with a metallic glow.

  • Helena, ultra-saturated fuchsia. Looks great on all skin tones.
  • Mandy, fresh, bright, deep coral-pink

  • In other news, I also got my EOS lip balm from Well.ca. I've only been using it for about, ummm... 15 minutes, but I like it so far. I got the sweet mint flavor, and it's yummy :)
